I love this recipe. My mom made a version of it growing up and my parents always had champagne with it. For me it hits all of the right notes. If your not a lamb person – you can substitute any ground meat really. There are a lot of bold flavors, but trust me that they all play amazingly well together.

 

Best Lamb Burger Ever

1 1/2 lbs ground lamb

1 tablespoon plain yogurt – you can use regular or greek

1 tspn ground cumin

1 tspn kosher salt

1 tspn black pepper

1 clove garlic finely minced

2 teaspoons chopped chives

blue cheese – you can either used crumbled or slices.

 

Combine all of the ingredients well. Divide your meat into 4 sections. Form the sections into patties. in the middle of one of the patties place blue cheese in the middle. Place another patty on top and pinch the sides closed. Repeat with the remaining patties. Let sit for at least 1/2 an hour to let the flavors blend. When you are ready to cook heat the grill to medium high and let heat up. Cook burger for 7 mins per side.  Let rest for a couple of minutes Serve on a roll of your choice. I like to serve with grilled scallions or leeks and an english muffin. Enjoy!
