<\/p>\nFall is go time for me. I\u2019m coming off a long summer of late nights, fun with friends and lots out of outdoor time. In the summer I focus almost all of my energy outside on my garden and the inside tends become rather neglected.<\/p>\n
This is when I tear into my various design projects. Broken toys and stained beyond repair items are given the boot. This is my favorite time to re-giggering various things and given those tired rooms a quick facelift.<\/p>\n
When I first started having children it was all very classic- smocked dresses, everything monogrammed, t strap lady janes , shetland sweaters etc.. Basically , channeling my very proper childhood. What I\u2019ve realized though is that girls like a little glitz and tack. That sticking to the old program creates a bit of a flat environment and that there is room for a bit of Glitz in everyone\u2019s life \u2013 I mean imagine a Glitz free Holiday Season?<\/p>\n
The first project this fall was Bunny\u2019s room. When she claimed the upstairs guest room as hers- she ended up with various odds and ends and the room lacked a cohesive design thought.<\/p>\n
To start I find one piece that I really like and go from there. In this case it was the rug. Bunny loves art projects and her rugs usually reflect that so I wanted a rug that would hide her various projects.<\/p>\n
I went with a brightly colored persian style rug that stains would not be obvious on.It is loaded with bright colors and worked as the perfect anchor. I used the rug as my color wheel and from tat sprung the bright green Campaign Desk.<\/p>\n
I studded the room with Shiny and Glitzy accents sourced from the local HomeGoods. Large Faux Fur Pillows are stacked in a corner perfect for playdates and her desk chair is covered in the same. Fun pillows and silly little boxes to store her treasures are sprinkled through out. I used a silver elephant garden stool as her night stand and hung framed pieces of art that she made in Mirrored frames.<\/p>\n

The silver accents throughout the room \u2013 the garden stool, picture frames, wall lamps etc really help in pulling it together.<\/p>\n
The piece de resistance was a glittery, mesh canopy over her bed that instantly created a cozy little den for her to read books and fall asleep under. I will say when she saw the room she screamed with delight and was particularly thrilled with the canopy.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
The overall look is girly, ecletic and yes a bit Glitzy! But, most of all under it all is functional and well ordered and it made Bunny smile from ear to ear. Next Project- Harry\u2019s Bedroom!<\/p>\n
